Short answer

A hair braiding website has one job: show each style with its real length and price, then let a client ask for a date without a week of DMs. Hairdressers.io gives a braider that page in her own name, with up to twelve styles, the hours each one takes and the price, your deposit and cancellation policy printed above the booking form, and a listing on your city directory page. A solo braider pays $49 a month flat, with 0% commission on every booking.

Braiders who search for a website usually have the work already. The feed is full of installs and the DMs are full of "how much for medium knotless, mid-back, and are you free Saturday?" What is missing is a page that answers that before the message: the style, the length, the hours, the price and the rules about deposits and lateness. A full website builder can do it with a weekend of templates and a scheduler bolted on. This page is about the shorter path, where the booking page is the website.

01

Do braiders need a website?

A hair braider in her home studio checking a booking request on her phone before a long install

Yes, if a website means a page that quotes and books for you. A braider loses more time to pricing questions than any other stylist, because the answer depends on size, length, style and whether hair is included. A page that lists each style with its hours and price answers that once, for everybody, and lets the serious clients ask for a date.

Count the messages behind your last five installs. Most braiders find that each booked client cost four or five back and forth DMs: the price, the length, the hair, the deposit, the date. Multiply that by the people who asked and never booked, and the week has lost hours you could have spent braiding. A page that says "medium knotless, mid-back, six hours, $260, deposit required" filters out the price shoppers and leaves you with requests from people who already agreed to the number.

It does not need to be big. Nobody reads an about page before a six hour install. They check the style, the price, the policy and the open days.

02

What should a hair braiding website include?

A hair braiding website should include the style menu with real hours and prices, your deposit and cancellation policy, the days you take installs, the area you work from and a booking form. On Hairdressers.io each of those comes from details you fill in once, so the page stays right when your prices go up in January.

A style menu that fits braiding
Up to twelve services, each with its own length (up to ten hours) and its price in dollars. List knotless by size and length as separate lines so the price on the page is the price you charge.
Your deposit and cancellation policy
Write your rules once, how much the deposit is, how you take it and what happens if a client is late or cancels. They show on your page and again in the email the client gets after she books.
A cutoff for changes
Choose how close to the appointment a client can still move or cancel online, from no cutoff up to 72 hours. A Saturday install cannot be cancelled online on Friday night if you set 48 hours.
Only the days you braid
Requests are accepted only inside the hours you set, so nobody asks for a full head at 7pm on a day you finish at 4.
Your area, not your door
Show the neighborhood and city. There is no street address field, which matters when you braid from home or a private suite.
A link to the work
Your Instagram or TikTok is linked from the page, because that is where the installs already live.

What is the best website for braiders?

The best website for a braider is the one that turns a viewer into a booked day with the fewest messages, stays in her own name, and does not charge more when a new client comes through it. Website builders, marketplace apps and booking tool pages each pass some of those tests. Here is how they compare on what you actually pay for.

Option What you get What you pay for Fits a braider who
Website builder (Squarespace, Wix) A designed site with a gallery and any layout you want The site plan and domain, plus a separate scheduler behind the "Book" button Wants a custom brand site and has time to build and update it
Marketplace app (StyleSeat, Booksy) A profile inside the app, with reviews and discovery among people browsing it A subscription, and on some plans a fee tied to new clients the app introduces Is new to an area and needs strangers to find her first
Link scheduler (Acuity, braider-only apps) A booking link with deposits taken by card The scheduler plan, plus card processing Needs card deposits collected at the moment of booking
Hairdressers.io A page with up to twelve styles, hours, prices, your policy and a booking form, plus a city directory listing $49 a month for one braider, $89 for a studio of up to eight, 0% commission Gets clients from social and wants fewer DMs and no per-client fee

04

How much does a braider website cost?

A braider website usually costs a monthly builder plan and a domain, then a scheduler on top, and that last line is where the real number sits. A designer-built site adds a one-time fee. A booking page that is the website costs one flat amount: on Hairdressers.io, $49 a month for a solo braider and $89 a month for a braiding studio of up to eight braiders, and about half that on yearly billing.

Compare the whole path from "saw your install" to "in the chair". With a builder it is the site, the domain and the scheduler. With a marketplace app it is the subscription plus whatever a new client costs on her first visit, which on an eight hour install can be a real share of the day. With our page it is one number, and a client who found you through the directory costs the same as a regular.

05

Built for appointments that take the whole day

Most booking pages assume a 45 minute haircut. Braiding does not work that way. One install can be your entire Saturday, so a bad booking costs a day, not an hour. That is why every request on Hairdressers.io waits for your reply before it is confirmed. You see the style, the date and the client's note about length or hair, and you answer from your phone, with the client as the reply address.

If you braid with a team, the Salon plan gives each braider her own link with her own styles, prices and days, so the braider who does boho knotless at a higher rate and the one who does feed-ins on weekdays never share a confused calendar. Braiders who mainly want a booking link rather than a website should read the booking app for braiders page, and stylists who travel to clients can look at the mobile hair stylist app.

06

Braider website versus a StyleSeat or Booksy profile

A marketplace profile lives inside someone else's app. It is good at putting you in front of people browsing that app, and plenty of braiders built their first book that way. The trade is that your clients learn to open the app, the app shows them other braiders on the way to you, and on some plans the first visit of a new client carries a fee. On a $300 install that fee is noticeable.

A page in your own name works the other way. The client lands on your menu and books you. The link goes in the bio, on the card and on your Google profile, and it never shows a competitor. Every plan also includes a listing on your city directory page at 0% commission. Cities shown on the directory today are New York, Brooklyn, Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, Atlanta and Austin, and a braider in another city can add hers during signup. For the full fee comparison, see StyleSeat alternative for braiders.

07

What it does not do

This is not a website builder. There is no drag and drop layout, no photo gallery, no shop for edges or hair and no blog, and the page lives on a hairdressers.io address under your business name rather than on a custom domain. If you own a domain, forward it to your page and keep Instagram as the gallery.

It also does not take card deposits. Your deposit policy is shown on the page and in the confirmation email, and you collect the deposit the way you already do, by payment app or invoice, before you confirm the request. If card deposits at the moment of booking are the one thing you need, a link scheduler with checkout fits better, and this page can still be where your bio points for the menu and the policy.

Questions

About braider website

The rest are on the salon booking system FAQ.

Can I put my deposit policy on my braiding website?

Yes. You write the policy once, for example the deposit amount, how you take it and your lateness and cancellation rules, and it appears on your page above the booking form and again in the email the client receives. The deposit itself is collected the way you choose before you confirm.

Can clients cancel a braiding appointment the night before?

Only if you allow it. You pick a cutoff for online changes, from none up to 72 hours before the appointment. Inside that window the client cannot move or cancel from her link and has to reply to you instead.

Do I need a website if I already post on Instagram and TikTok?

The feed shows the installs but does not quote or book, so clients DM you and wait. Keep the feed as the gallery and put the page in your bio, so someone who likes a style sees the hours, the price and the policy and requests a date straight away.

Is there a fee when a new client books me through the website?

No. Every plan is 0% commission on every booking, including a new client's first install from the city directory. You pay the flat monthly or yearly price and nothing per client.

Will my home address show on the page?

No. The page shows your neighborhood and city, and there is no street address field. You send the exact address to a client after you confirm her request.

How long does it take to set up a braider website?

Most braiders finish in one sitting. You choose a plan, sign in with a code sent to your email, add your styles with hours and prices, your days, your policy and a short about line. Once the plan is paid, your page and your city listing are live.
