Short answer

Hairdressers.io is salon suite software for a stylist who rents a private suite and works alone. You get your own booking link, a service menu with real lengths and prices, a client card for every client with color formula and notes, and a listing on your city directory page. Every booking reaches you as a request you confirm with one reply, so nothing lands in your day while both hands are in foils. It costs $49 a month flat, with 0% commission.

Moving into a suite changes what you need from software. In a commission salon somebody else answered the phone, filled the gaps and owned the client list. Behind your own door there is no desk, no walk-in traffic and no one to pick up while you are mid color. Most salon software is sold to the opposite customer, a floor of stylists with a receptionist, and is priced by the calendar, the add-on or the new client. A suite renter needs a shorter list: a link clients can book from at night, a menu that knows a partial highlight is not a 45 minute slot, a card for every client, and a steady trickle of new people to replace the ones who move away.

01

What is the best software for a salon suite?

The best software for a salon suite is one a single stylist can run alone: a booking link in your own name, services with their real lengths, a client list you can export, and a bill that does not grow with each new client. Suite renters in the US usually choose between a marketplace app, a general scheduler and a flat fee booking page.

The table compares how each model bills a one chair suite. We compare models and not prices, because every company changes its numbers. Read each pricing page on the day you sign.

Software How the bill is built Where new clients come from Best for a suite renter who
GlossGenius Monthly tiers by team size, flat card processing on each payment Your own link and social profiles, no marketplace Wants booking and card payments in one app
StyleSeat Monthly subscription, plus a one-time capped share of the first visit of each new marketplace client Its consumer marketplace Is new to the area and needs the app to find clients
Booksy Subscription, a fee per added team member, and a one-time commission on new clients while Boost is on Its consumer app Has clients who already book through the app
Vagaro Per bookable calendar, with marketing and other features as add-ons, and a fee on a first marketplace booking Its marketplace Wants payroll and inventory later, as the business grows
Square Appointments An entry tier without a monthly fee, paid tiers above it priced per location, processing on each card payment Your own booking site, plus the Square Go app Already takes cards on a Square reader
Hairdressers.io Flat $49 a month for one chair, 0% commission, no add-ons Your own link and a listing on your city directory page Has a book of regulars and wants a fixed bill and a few new clients

A booking link that works when nobody is at the desk

An independent hairstylist unlocking the door of her own salon suite in the morning

A suite has no receptionist, so the phone is the problem. A call during a root touch up either goes to voicemail or pulls your gloves off. Your booking page takes that call instead. A client opens your link from your Instagram bio, a text or a business card, picks a service, sees its length and price, chooses a time inside the hours you set, and sends it. No app to download and no account to create.

What arrives is a request, with the service, the length, the date and the time on it and the client as the reply address. You answer between clients with one reply: yes, or how about Thursday at two. That step matters more in a suite than on a busy floor, because nobody else is looking at your day. A new color client who really needs a consultation first, a four hour job that someone tried to squeeze in before your school run, a client you no longer take, all of those stop at your inbox and not in your chair.

Real service lengths
A partial highlight holds two and a half hours, a cut holds one, and the page only offers times that fit.
Clients move themselves
The confirmation carries a private link to move or cancel, up to three times, inside the notice window you choose.
Your policy in writing
The deposit and cancellation wording you write goes out in every confirmation email.

Your client list stays yours when you change buildings

Suite renters move. A lease ends, a better building opens across town, the rent goes up. Some suite brands offer tenants their own booking app, which is convenient until you leave and discover the account was tied to the building. Before you put four years of clients into any system, ask one question: on the day I move out, do I keep the link, the list and the history?

Here the account is yours and has nothing to do with your landlord. Every client who books gets a card with visit count, last visit, a note, the color formula, the last patch test date and the consent date. You can download the whole list as a spreadsheet on any day. If you change suites, you change the neighborhood on your page and keep the same link. The salon client management software page covers the client card field by field.

New clients for a suite with no walk-in traffic

An empty styling chair by a window in a quiet salon in the afternoon

The one thing a suite cannot give you is a street window. Nobody walks past a door on the second floor of a suites building and decides to get a cut. Marketplace apps solve that and charge for it, usually with a share of the first visit of each client they send. For a stylist building a book from nothing that can be a fair trade. For a stylist who moved into a suite with 150 regulars, it is a fee on growth she mostly creates herself.

Every plan here includes a listing on the city directory page for your area, with your services and your prices as you set them. A client who finds you there books the same way as a regular, and the booking carries 0% commission. The page shows your city and, if you want, a neighborhood. There is no street address field, so you send the suite number when you confirm, which is how most suite renters prefer to handle it anyway. For more ways to fill the gaps, see hair salon advertising.

05

How much does salon suite software cost?

A salon owner reviewing a monthly invoice at her desk

Salon suite software usually costs a monthly subscription for one stylist, and the total depends on what is added to it: card processing on each payment, text message credits, marketing add-ons, and on marketplace apps a one-time fee on each new client. For a suite renter the add-ons and the new client fees often come to more than the subscription.

Hairdressers.io is $49 a month for one chair, or $288 for the year. That covers the booking page, the client cards, the directory listing and every booking you take. There is no setup fee, no add-on price list and no commission. You pay by card and can be live the same afternoon. If you later take on an assistant or a second stylist, the Salon plan covers up to eight people for $89 a month. Details are on the pricing page.

06

What this salon suite software does not do

Better to say it here than after you sign up. It does not take card payments, so you keep the reader or the payment app you use today. There are no text message reminders, no card on file and no automatic deposit charge. Your written policy goes in the confirmation, and you collect a deposit the way you already do. Your confirmed bookings sit on a calendar where you drag a visit to move it and block time off, and the whole list downloads as a spreadsheet.

It is also not salon suite management software for a landlord. If you own a building and rent suites to other professionals, you need lease and rent collection tools, and this is not that product. This is for the stylist behind one of those doors.

07

Who this fits

If you rent a chair on a shared floor, the salon software for independent stylists page is written for you. To see how the main booking apps bill a solo stylist side by side, read booking sites for hair stylists, and if StyleSeat is the app you are leaving, the StyleSeat alternative page compares the two models. Suite renters whose book is mostly installs and move-ups should read the booking app for hair extension specialists page.

A stylist in her first year in a suite
You left a commission or booth rental salon, brought your regulars with you, and need a link by Monday.
A colorist with long appointments
Your day is three or four clients, so one wrong booking costs a quarter of it. You want to say yes to each one.
A suite renter leaving a marketplace
Your book is full of regulars and you are tired of paying a share on the few new clients the app sends.
A studio owner with one chair
You work from a small private studio, by appointment only, and do not want your exact address public.

Questions

About salon suite software

The rest are on the salon booking system FAQ.

What is a salon suite booking system?

A salon suite booking system is software that lets clients of a suite renter book online without a receptionist. It gives one stylist a booking link, a service menu with lengths and prices, working hours and a client list. Some also take card payments or list the stylist in a marketplace.

Do I need my own booking software if my suite building offers an app?

You do not have to use it, and it is worth checking who owns the account. If the app is tied to the building, ask whether your link, client list and history go with you when the lease ends. An account in your own name moves with you.

Can I keep my suite number private?

Yes. Your page and your directory listing show your city and, if you choose, a neighborhood. There is no street address field. You send the building and suite number when you confirm the appointment.

Does it take a commission on new clients?

No. Every booking carries 0% commission, including bookings from clients who found you on the city directory page. The price is $49 a month flat for one chair.

Can I store color formulas for my clients?

Yes. Every client card holds a note, the color formula, the last patch test date and the consent date, next to visit count and last visit. Client cards are part of every plan.

What happens if I hire an assistant or a second stylist?

Move to the Salon plan at $89 a month, which covers up to eight stylists. Each one gets their own booking link, hours and list of services, and the bill does not change as you add people inside that limit.
